At the end of Saturday,  8 rounds had been played, with the hope of an early departure on Sunday. The overnight position left John Hague and John Gosden on 7 wins each. John Hague having dropped a game to John Gosden and John Gosden having dropped a game to Chris Jackson. The score line does not adequately reflect the performance of Susan Boxell who joined at the last minute to prevent players having to sit-out a round. She played above her handicap of 11 narrowly missing out on the thirteenth hoop in a couple of games. Day 2 started with a further reduction in numbers by reason of 2 enforced medical withdrawals (Desmond Jarrett & Susan Boxell). The remaining 6 players completed the scheduled rounds in extremely hot conditions, with some closely contested games. The final positions were decided by the number of wins and net hoops as follows: 1st John Hague, 2nd John Gosden, 3rd Chris Jackson, 4th Mike Bilton, 5th Bridget Goodman & 6th David Boxell.  The full results are available on croquet scores at: https://croquetscores.com/2021/gc/hunstanton-a-level-series-0. 3. When will I be asked to pay my Annual Membership Subscription? The Annual Newsletter, Calendar and accompanying forms were sent out on 5 March 2021. Subscriptions are due by 31 March 2021. Many have been received, but some are still outstanding. Exceptionally, the deadline for renewals was extended to 30 April 2021. Members who failed to renew by that date were ‘deactivated’ on the CA Membership database wef 06/05/2021.
4. How do I enter CA Tournaments?Use the CA-TES to view the status of Tournaments and make bookings on-line. In the event of cancellation, re-scheduling or withdrawal this makes the administration and finance easier for you and us.

However, we expect to be hand washing, social distancing and mask wearing well into 2021. In the short-term we have suspended ‘Club Afternoons’ and ‘Turn-up and Play’. Message from Chairman

This is a brief note to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2021. We would normally have sent out an Annual Newsletter in December with a Calendar of events for the forthcoming year, inviting you to renew your membership and enter club competitions, etc. However, as there is so much uncertainty at the moment, we think it would be wiser to delay this until the new year. We may then have a clearer idea of what level of activity will be possible. In the meantime some winter maintenance works are in progress and we have submitted a full programme of AC and GC tournaments for inclusion in the CA’s Fixtures Book for 2021. These can be viewed on the CA’s website. Until we can resume play, please stay safe. If you have any comments or suggestions please contact Janet Kendal, Chairman, Hunstanton Croquet Club by email at chairman@hunstantoncroquetclub.co.uk or by phone on 01485 533551.
